Push, pull, play!

The best potters are the ones who are just about to tear through their pieces. They push themselves to the very edge, but are then able to pull back.

This balance presents itself on the wheel and in life. Some days it’s great to push yourself or your pots till they break. If they don’t, how will you ever know how tall they can grow?
You have to be willing to tear through a piece, or totally fail at what you are doing, in order to reach your true potential with it.

You shouldn’t push yourself to that point everyday, but every now and then it is healthy as it lets you know when to take a step back next time. You must challenge yourself, but also know when to step back.

Don’t be scared. Fail. And then, try again. Approach it all with a sense of play!
